Here's a list of the things you can do:
Write a letter today. There are many letter-writing campaigns underway;
all over the world in order create awareness about the tiger's plight.
Tell politicians and bureaucrats how important tigers are and how
saving them leads to the saving of entire ecosystems. Don't be afraid
of writing to powerful people.
Start petitions. It's very easy to start a petition; all you have
to do is tell people about the tiger and how they are an endangered
species. Then ask them if they are willing to sign a piece of paper
giving their name and country as well. You can ask as many people
as you want, remember the more people sign the more impact a petition
makes. You can then send the petition to prime ministers of countries
where tigers are found. Start with the Kids
for Tigers Petition in India.
Spread awareness. This is a very important job. There are many
people across the world who don't know anything about tigers. You
can help educate them. Tell people about tigers and how they need
our help in order to survive. You can start by talking to other
kids in your school, try and get your teachers involved as well.
You can send gift subscriptions of Sanctuary Cub magazine to kids
in India and neighbouring countries. These children may be interested
in nature and conservation but may be too poor to afford the subscription
fee of the magazine. Similarly you can send gift subscriptions of
Sanctuary magazine to adults.
Collect or send your own donations to Tiger conservation organisations.
Your contribution will help. Always remember, if a lot us do a
little, a lot gets done!
