Mela from February 15-19, 2002.

Kids for Tigers 'Tiger Ambassadors' chosen
from each city participated in Camp
Ranthambhore 2002 from February 16-19, where they had the
opportunity interact with each other and with the local people
and forest guards of Ranthambhore.

The Melghat
Annual Day was celebrated on March 22, 2002 when children
took an oath to Save the Tiger and tied "Tiger friendship bands"
on the wrists of forest guards and officers. A Tiger Fest was
held in Nagpur on
February 24, 2002 and in Chandrapur
on February 26, 2002.

The Tiger Express visited Chaparala
Sanctuary on March 9, 2002, when a special Kids for Tigers
Mela was organised with help from the Maharashtra Forest Department.

The Tiger Express travelled to Melghat
Tiger Reserve and Kids for Tigers slide shows were conducted
in several villages in Melghat from April 8-15, 2002.

On April 19, 2002, as part of Earth Day
activities, Kids for Tigers Delhi organised ECollage,
a collage making competition using recycled or waste material
only.

Four Kids for Tigers 'International Tiger
Ambassadors' visited the Kruger
National Park in South Africa from May 29-June 4, 2002 on
invitation from the South African National Parks Board. The
Indian High Commissioner to South Africa met the children and
as requested by them, he has officially asked that the Indian
World Cup Cricket Team scheduled to play in South Africa in
February 2003 adopts the 'Tiger' as its official mascot.

On June 24, Kids for Tigers Ambassadors
in Delhi met with Director,
Project Tiger to discuss how the Tiger Ambassadors could
work with Project Tiger.

Between June and August 2002, 13 Kids for
Tigers Teachers' Workshops were held, in Mumbai,
Bangalore,
Hyderabad,
Chennai,
Nagpur,
Amravati,
Patna,
Jabalpur,
Kolkata,
Dehradun
and Mussoorie and
Delhi.

Special Slide Shows: On September 9, a show
was held at the City
Hall in Yawatmal, where kids were invited alongwith parents
and teachers.
On October 7, 2002, a slide show was organised at the Pench
Tiger Reserve.

During National Wildlife Week, Kids for
Tigers conducted a Tiger
Mela at Crossroads, Mumbai. Creative
workshops and special screenings of the film 'The
Tiger's Fortress' were held at Delhi, where children also
had the opportunity to meet renowned tiger experts.

On October 10, children from Delhi travelled
to Patna to join hands with kids at Patna to help save the Valmiki
Tiger Reserve. Kids
for Tigers met the Bihar Chief Minister Ms. Rabari Devi
and RJD supremo Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav to convince them of the
urgent need to save tigers.

Workshop was held on February 5, 2003 for teachers from

Tiger Express: From January 22-February
7, the Tiger Express travelled in and around Tadoba-Andhari
Tiger Reserve educating villagers and talking to forest
guards. On February 8, 2003, the Tiger Express participated
in a huge Book Mela at Paratwada,
the town nearest to Melghat Tiger Reserve.

On February 22, 2003, the 29th foundation
day of the Melghat Tiger Reserve, hundreds of kids of Korku
tribals visited the Kids for Tigers stall at the Tribal
Awareness Mela.

On March 7, 2003, Dr.
Rajesh Gopal, Director, Project Tiger wrote a letter to
Kids for Tigers congratulating them on the large number of signatures
earned for 'Save the Tiger' campaigns in different regions.
"My colleagues and I are with you all the way in our joint
mission to save Panthera tigris," he writes.
